General Summary:
The HELP Study is an NIH-supported project aimed at improving pain and reducing fall risk among older adults with chronic musculoskeletal pain. The 5-year study will be a randomized clinical trial of mind-body exercise vs. physical exercise intervention delivered in community settings with study measures and assessments conducted at the study clinic at UMASS Boston.
Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Project Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the five-year research project. The position is responsible for the implementation of the clinical trial from inception to completion and manages and coordinates study activities.
The Project Manager will manage day-to-day logistics and operational needs of the research project, including recruiting, enrolling and retaining study participants, coordinating data collection activities in the study clinic, coordinate activities of the research team through all phases of the study, identify necessary resources to perform project work, monitor work progress including participant recruitment, transportation, study follow-ups and measurements, report development, and oversee timely completion of each phase of the project. In addition, the Project Manager will be responsible for communicating with relevant staff and students in implementing appropriate project designs and work plans, convene research team meetings, and identify and address problems which may adversely affect performance of project work.

This is an exempt union position. This is a grant funded position with a current end date of July 31, 2026, subject to renewal contingent on funding and university needs.
