    Liaison Librarian I-III in UMass Boston

    Reporting to the AUL for Academic Engagement in Healey Library, and working closely with colleagues in ROI, the AUL for Collections and other library units, the Liaison Librarian provides in-depth library research and instructional support at the University of Massachusetts Boston. This full-time position will collaborate with colleagues in the library and across campus to instruct, engage and support the nearly 17,000 students, and 1,100 faculty in the full range of library resources and services, on and off campus. Healey Library is restarting and revitalizing its Liaison Librarian program, whereby each librarian in the unit will teach information literacy sessions and workshops in General Education, but each will also have subject specialty areas on which they will focus for other workshops, and will also contribute to Collections activities, such as communicating faculty suggestions to the Head of Collections, sharing in review and trials of databases, and related activities.

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for managing community engagement processes in specific projects and programs, as well as contribute to developing new programs for community-engaged research and action focused on just and equitable climate resilience. They will play a crucial role in fostering relationships with community partners, ensuring meaningful community participation in research and action initiatives, programs that address climate change impacts on vulnerable populations, and Nature-Based Approaches (NBA) for resilience. The incumbent will be involved in the planning and/or advancing a wide range of fundraising activities and high-level, prospect-focused events; will pursue leadership gifts for a range of priorities including current use, endowed chairs, scholarships, and capital improvements; and will identify and cultivate prospects and develop solicitation strategies and coordination with key administrators, faculty, alumni, and volunteers, which is critical to the success of this role. The incumbent also may oversee special projects as assigned by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Principal & Leadership Gifts and Campaign Director.
