The Director of Finance will provide high-level strategic leadership and support for the financial and administrative goals of the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD) and its institutes, including the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) and the Institute for New England Native American Studies (INENAS). The incumbent will have authority and responsibility over all aspects of the financial management and operations of the Institute and School, including grants management, managing the budget and accounting functions for the units; and will provide overall leadership, direction and assistance in budgetary preparation. The incumbent will analyze a variety of financial information; provide direction and support in making yearly spending recommendations while maximizing the use of funds; and for ensuring overall operations are within the unit’s budget.

The Business and Operations Manager (BOM) is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of the department of Facilities. Working closely with the AVC for Facilities (AVC FM), the incumbent will prepare the annual operating budget for Facilities, calculating and projecting all personnel and operating expenses. The incumbent will also prepare the annual and five-year Capital Plan and provide forecasts on the status of campus infrastructure improvements and design and construction projects. The BOM oversees all human resources, timesheet and payroll administration for Facilities. The incumbent will serve as the Department’s liaison with administrative units of the university and funding partners; and will develop and maintain the day-to-day policies and procedures to ensure compliance with university policy and effective business operations.

The study’s goals including implementing an autism-focused professional development program for early elementary, general education teachers and evaluating the program’s efficacy in a randomized controlled trial design. This professional development program, called Smooth Sailing, was designed with close consultation from teachers and autistic consultants, provides neurodiversity-affirming information about autism, and equips teachers with strategies for fostering strong student-teacher relationships with their young autistic students.

The Utility Plant Operator, within the Facilities Department, is responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning chiller systems, boilers and auxiliary machinery and equipment; operating electronic controls for heating and air conditioning systems; and for monitoring general, mechanical and/or electrical repairs on power distribution, chilled water, hot water, gas, domestic and de-ionized water, environmental rooms, freezers, fire alarm, remote building equipment monitoring, sanitary, acid waste and storm drain systems; respond to emergencies or equipment breakdowns; maintain adequate supply of fuel; and perform related work as required.
