      The Director of Financial Administration will report to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Administration and Financial Services (AVC) with providing comprehensive financial and administrative support to the Deans, Vice and Associate Provosts, Directors, Assistant Deans, and other staff within Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include assisting with budget development, financial reporting, and analysis, as well as forecasting. The position also supports the AVC in reconciling the Academic Affairs budget, managing faculty development funds, and tracking course buy-outs and releases.       Utility Plant Operator in UMass Boston

      The Utility Plant Operator, within the Facilities Department, is responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning chiller systems, boilers and auxiliary machinery and equipment; operating electronic controls for heating and air conditioning systems; and for monitoring general, mechanical and/or electrical repairs on power distribution, chilled water, hot water, gas, domestic and de-ionized water, environmental rooms, freezers, fire alarm, remote building equipment monitoring, sanitary, acid waste and storm drain systems; respond to emergencies or equipment breakdowns; maintain adequate supply of fuel; and perform related work as required. The basic purpose of this work is to operate, monitor, maintain and repair utility systems and equipment and that the power plant facility is operated and maintained safely and efficiently. The Utility Plant Operator position is considered to be an Essential Personnel as defined by and detailed in the contract between the University and the Classified Staff Union (CSU).

      Technical Specialist for Graduation (EDP Programmer III) in UMass Boston

      Registrar Technical Specialists are subject matter experts in one or more areas of work carried out by the Registrar’s Office: registration, records, graduation, scheduling etc.  Registrar Technical Specialists are responsible for carrying out the regular business practices associated with each of those areas.  They will be responsible for keeping up to date on academic and University policies associated with their areas and be able to apply those policies and practices to their particular area of responsibility.  They are responsible for developing and implementing business practices for their areas that are in compliance with University policies, academic requirements and legal requirements (FERPA, etc). Technical Specialists serve as first points of contacts for students and other business offices regarding matters related to their areas, including acting as primary liaisons for their areas to Undergrad Studies, University Advising, One Stop, Graduate Studies, Financial Aid, Admissions, etc.  They are expected to develop expertise in the particular software programs and applications required in their areas which may include: PeopleSoft, the CollegeSource degree audit system (uAchieve), Perceptive Content, Salesforce, Acalog, Curriculog, etc.  In addition, Technical Specialists will share in covering office-wide responsibilities including phone and email coverage.
