Early College Academic Success Coach Early College Initiative
The Academic Success Coach works with Early College students, potential and enrolled, using asset-based educational, cultural, and linguistic frameworks, to provide support to students from their initial transition to the program, through graduation. The Academic Success Coach will also provide support to Early College graduates who transition and enroll at UMass Boston, and will ensure high-quality, comprehensive advising sessions through educational approaches that promote equity, transformational practice, and academic literacy to guarantee the successful retention of the students served. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, working with a specific caseload of students to assist them in navigating academic and non-academic issues as well as connecting them to other appropriate resources and services on campus or at their high school. The Academic Success Coach will work closely with the Senior Director of Programs and Partnerships to develop holistic support and curriculum for participants and evaluate the success of the program towards the goal of continuous improvement.

Assistant Professor - Biology Education Biology
The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor to pursue a teaching and research program focused on Biology Education and/or pedagogy in science. The position will begin September 1, 2026. We will prioritize candidates who are committed to improving student success in the first years of undergraduate study. The faculty member will focus on teaching and/or leading instructional teams in our core first-year General Biology courses. They will also stimulate the development of pedagogical models that can be adapted for other courses, establish an externally funded research program, direct the research of graduate and undergraduate students, and interact with a dynamic group of biologists in research areas ranging from molecular and cellular biology to ecology and evolution. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree and relevant postdoctoral research or teaching experience. Assistant Professor - Power Systems Engineering
The Department of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Engineering, beginning September 1, 2026. We seek dynamic and innovative candidates with strong research records who can build and sustain a nationally recognized, externally funded applied research program in Electrical Engineering. Post Doctoral Research Fellow Biology
The Kelliher lab at UMass Boston is seeking a postdoctoral colleague to join our community, recently awarded a 5-year MIRA grant from NIGMS (R35 GM157067) to study how circadian rhythms interact with nutrients in the environment and cellular metabolism. We utilize the fungal model system Neurospora as well as mammalian cell culture. We employ genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and bioinformatics to study mechanisms of circadian compensation, clock transcriptional networks, and cross-talk between the circadian oscillator and metabolism.
Administrative Assistant II (MLLC) Modern Languages Lit Cultures
The Financial and Department Administrator for Modern Languages, Literatures & Cultures is responsible for maintaining the daily administrative and financial support functions for the Department. The incumbent will interact daily with the full-time faculty, along with part-time/adjunct faculty, and numerous undergraduate students and will provide them with direct administrative and financial support. They will monitor departmental finances and human resource needs for the department; will assist the Chair of the Department in the scheduling of class sections each regular academic semester; and will serve as the department property administrator, working with relevant University units to ensure the smooth on-boarding of new personnel. The incumbent will also supervise student employees.
Administrative Assistant II CLA - Dean's Office
The Administrative Assistant II within the CLA Dean’s Office will provide daily administrative and financial support functions to CLA Programs including but not limited to Critical Ethnic and Community Studies (CECS), Human Services, Latino Studies, and Native American and Indigenous Studies (NAIS). The incumbent will work closely the Program Directors to support administrative aspects, monitor financial and human resource needs, and assist in supervising student employees. The incumbent will also coordinate with other staff and faculty members in each program to promote events, to run the activities and functions of each program.
Community Service Officer Public Safety
A Community Service Officer (CSO) is an unarmed, uniformed security position, and is a non-sworn (civilian) member of the UMass Boston Police Department (UMBPD). With a strong emphasis on community engagement, CSO’s are responsible for performing a variety of duties to assist the (UMBPD) with its campus safety and community policing efforts. CSO’s assist UMBPD to make connections between students, faculty, staff, and other members of the community. The incumbent of this position enforces university policy, by-laws, the student code of conduct, and performs other non-criminal police related duties such as: community engagement and outreach; patrolling the campus on foot and/or be assigned to a designated post; provides direction, general information, and resources to the public, issuing parking tickets; performing walking escorts; respond to non-criminal complaints, building checks and other duties assigned. CSO’s are essential employees that do not carry firearms and have no powers of arrest.
Deputy Director of Utilities Facilities Admin

Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Civil Rights and Title IX and Title IX Coordinator, the Title IX and Civil Rights Investigator will serve as the investigator for Title IX and other relevant cases and will conduct interviews with the impacted party, respondent and relevant witness, ensuring a well-documented investigative process. The incumbent will maintain and track all appropriate statistics as required by university policy, as well as federal and state laws, practices, rules, and regulations. Assistant Director for Sport Performance Athletics
As a key member of the Holistic Performance Team, the Assistant Director for Sport Performance will serve as the assistant strength and conditioning coach and is responsible for establishing and maintaining strength and conditioning programs for all assigned sports, while collaborating and executing with a greater team of performance professionals to achieve optimal performance outcomes for student-athletes. This responsibility includes but is not limited to injury reduction, creating a safe training environment, improving athletic performance, teaching technique, supervising training sessions, motivating student-athletes, mobility/recovery training, continuing education, assisting teams, student-athlete testing/evaluation. Grants and Contracts Admin I-III Research & Sponsored Programs
The Grant and Contract Administrator (GCA) is a four-level series. This series supports faculty and staff from assigned units with both pre- and post-award (non-financial) project management and provides assistance to other Grant and Contract Administrator staff, as needed and as their levels dictate. The GCA role is vital in the success of sponsored research in that they provide daily supervision over all proposals and awards. S/he will work closely with faculty and departmental staff to educate them about how to best achieve successful funding by reviewing and advising on sponsor regulations and institute policies and procedures. The GCA understands the unique processes involved in the overall research effort and has the ability to comprehend the needs of the individual researchers and department business managers. The GCA works with the Principal Investigators (PIs) and department business managers to cultivate research proposals; submits research proposals to sponsors; negotiates acceptable award terms; ensures timely set-up of awards; oversees transactions related to grant/contract management; and maintains grant/contract records in compliance with university and research sponsor policies. The GCA assists with identifying potential funding sources; preparing and submitting project proposals; preparing and submitting budgets and progress reports; processing and monitoring project expenditures; training of departmental grants staff; and maintaining compliance with university policies and procedures, sponsor requirements, terms and conditions, and federal regulations regarding research involving human and animal subjects.
