The Early Childhood Coach will be responsible for the delivery of coaching services as part of the leadership coaching team at the Institute for Early Education Leadership and Innovation and its grant-funded projects with the MA Department of Early Education and Care.
Lecturer (Sports Leadership and Administration) Counseling & School Psychology
The Sport Leadership and Administration program at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer (one-year appointment) to join the Department of Counseling and School Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development, beginning Spring 2024. Responsibilities include: (1) teach undergraduate-level courses; (2) advise undergraduate students; (3) assist in the recruitment and selection of new students; and (4) provide service to university, college, and departmental committees, and to professional associations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Internship Coordinator for the Sport Leadership and Administration program. Typically, full-time Non-Tenure Track faculty teach 12-credits every fall and spring semester.
Assistant Director of University Events Univ Events and Ceremonies
The Assistant Director of University Events provides high-level event and office support for the Office of University Events and Ceremonies. The incumbent will assist with the planning, promotion, execution, and evaluation of chancellor-level and campus-wide events planned by the office, as well as work collaboratively with other departments on campus to ensure all events meet university standards. The Office is responsible for commencement and commencement-related events, as well as the annual Fall Convocation, Distinguished Faculty Lectures, Community Breakfast, and other Chancellor-hosted events and selective high-level events being held by university leaders. Reports to the Director of University Events.
Executive Director of Sustainable Solutions Lab Sustainable Solutions Lab
The Sustainable Solutions Lab works to advance climate justice through research, convenings and field building.  As a cross-university initiative, the Sustainable Solutions Lab (SSL) will, through explicit and strong relationships among business, non-profit, and government agency partners, promote and advance transdisciplinary research and practice to develop and implement sustainable and equitable solutions to issues of climate change.  The Executive Director, Sustainable Solutions Lab provides leadership on all major areas of the Lab’s policy, research, communications and policy-impact agendas, including strategic planning, as well as its financial and programmatic development.  The incumbent will be responsible for leading, supervising, coordinating, and conducting new and ground-breaking thinking on conceptualizing frameworks and developing metrics to assess impact of SSL activities; and will engage with high level stakeholders from multiple sectors, understanding current issues associated with climate change adaptation and resilience from a breadth of perspectives ranging from the natural sciences to policy to business to climate justice advocates. The Executive Director will supervise and orchestrate SSL activities through its advisory boards and will directly work with SSL Research Director and faculty affiliates to advance their research and associated activities; will lead fundraising and developing revenue streams to support SSL growth and longevity, which includes writing, analysis, participation and leadership in the dissemination, communication, and presentation of SSL products and activities.
Assistant Professor- (Asian American Studies Program) Asian American Studies Program
The Asian American Studies Program in the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development of the College of Education & Human Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for an equity minded tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in September 1, 2024. Specfiically, we seek a faculty member who maintains a focus on Vietnamese American diasporic community studies and whose research can inform the public’s urgent need to understand the origins and impacts of anti-Asian hate that has increased in recent years. The faculty member will have rich opportunities to engage deeply with one of the nation’s oldest and largest Vietnamese communities located in Boston’s Dorchester Fields Corner neighborhood—five minutes away from our campus—and with UMass Boston’s diverse, urban, majority-BIPOC student body which includes the highest number of Vietnamese American students enrolled in any local university.

Of particular interest are candidates with scholarly expertise in racial and gender equity in higher education using asset-based approaches and an established program of research within a qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods tradition. Candidates’ research agendas should focus on one of the following three areas: 1) access and success of undergraduate students from minoritized populations, including students in associate’s, bachelor's, or early college programs, 2) community colleges, with a focus on policy/reform, leadership, and practitioner work, or 3) teaching and learning in higher education, with a focus on culturally sustaining and asset-based pedagogies.

The Department of Public Policy and Public Affairs at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join our faculty beginning September 1, 2024. Applicants must have earned a doctoral degree. The Department is especially interested in hiring a candidate with a degree in political science but is open to candidates with relevant related social science degrees such as public policy, international relations, among others. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in racial, disparities, gender inequality and intersectional approaches to inequities, as well as health care and/or climate change risks. The Department emphasizes research specializations in environmental studies, health policy, international and/or comparative expertise on social, economic, and political inequity in this search. A focus on the impact of a transition to a green economy on vulnerable communities is desirable. Candidates should have strong research skills that enable them to contribute to the methods and/or statistics training core curriculum. The Pathania Lab at University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a highly motivated individual to join the team as a postdoctoral research fellow who will work on projects related to DNA damage repair pathways with special focus on BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes We are seeking candidates with strong background in molecular biology, and ideally strong expertise in DNA damage repair biology. The research in our group is focused on understanding pathways that drive breast, ovarian and prostate cancer in BRCA1/2 mutation carriers. Our work is also focused on designing new preventive and therapeutic strategies based on insights gained through mechanistic studies in the lab. Mechanistically minded scientists who wish to study these or pursue other similar areas of interest are encouraged to apply.
