General Summary of Position:
The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to build an adjunct pool and to teach two Chinese language course in Fall 2025 (Chinese 1 and culture , and Chinese 3 and Culture). The successful candidate will be expected to start classes on September 3rd, 2025.
Under the guidance of the Chair of the department, the ideal candidate will enhance the student's learning experience by integrating a variety of methods and strategies into the teaching process and maintaining a student learning-centered environment. UMass Lowell is an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving-Institution (AANAPISI): https://www.uml.edu/aacee/aanapisi.aspx. The Department of World Languages and Cultures seeks candidates who can contribute to that goal. Instructors will be expected to attend a scheduled orientation in January.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- M.A. degree or above in Chinese in hand.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and English required.
- Teaching experience at the college level in lower-division courses.
