The Career Communities Coordinator plays an instrumental role in carrying out the mission of the department by providing data backed insights and maintaining operational systems. The incumbent will support the development and implementation of a data assessment and technology management plan that will enhance the department’s ability to track outcomes based on strategic initiatives.

Examples of Duties: 

  • Assist with managing employer partner programs, recruiting and retaining students in programs, and maintaining relationships with donors and campus partners.
  • Serve as an advisor and program support to selected cohort of students.
  • Assess, collect, and report student data on program participants related to student persistence, retention, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Assist with developing career communities; working with Career Specialist to design and distribute student and employer resources, establishing and marketing events and expos, producing and implementing data assessment tools to track engagement and training/career education needs.
  • Organize career database and edit/update website content according to career communities framework.
  • Teach a 1-credit career success course using Career Launch curriculum.
  • Conduct career advising appointments and drop-ins with selected cohort of students.
  • Conduct ACES classroom presentations and career workshops.
  • Maintain consistency and compliance within ADA, FERPA, SEVIS, and other state, federal, university and departmental guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree and at least two (2) years of direct student service is required; master’s degree preferred. Proven ability to work with diverse populations is required. Experience using design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or Figma is a plus. Experience working in university programming and events is a plus. Experience maintaining university career services platforms such as uConnect and Handshake is a plus.
 
Position requires incumbent to be on campus a minimum of four days a week with one day possible remote work depending on operational needs. Occasional weekends may be required. Work schedule may be flexed to extend into evenings.
Knowledge of or proven aptitude to learn current career development theory, research, and practice.
Knowledge of or proven aptitude to interpret and utilize data from institutional or external sources for the purpose of implementing equity-based programming.
  • Demonstrated advising and student support skills.
  • Demonstrated marketing and event planning skills
  • Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, effectively and efficiently in a team capacity.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to manage and manipulate data by using Excel and the aptitude to learn in-house platform technologies.

This is an exempt union position. This is a grant funded position with a current end date of April 1, 2026, subject to renewal contingent on funding and university needs.
