General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Operations, the Coordinator for Events and Operations supports two distinct areas of the department, including:
Campus Center: The Campus Center reflects the University’s mission and founding principles of access, diversity and excellence through its abundant programs, services and spaces. The department oversees the daily operation of the building, which serves as the “living room” of campus. In collaboration with various campus partners, the Campus Center supports and enhances student life and student involvement, University amenities and resources, and event and conference services.
Event Services: Manages a full range of meeting and event spaces for the UMass Boston community and external guests. Responsibilities include space scheduling, event detailing, staffing coordination and technology support. Event Services also manages all marketing initiatives of the department including websites and printed materials for internal and external initiatives. Additionally, Event Services coordinates and supports University events in collaboration with our partners in Advancement and Alumni Engagement, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs and University Events.
The Coordinator for Events and Operations will support the department by providing on-site event coordination and support in department managed spaces across campus. Additionally, they will assist in processing space requests and providing logistical assistance to outside guests and members of the UMass Boston community.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of one to three years of experience in event management, college unions, or activities.
Prior supervisory experience is preferred. The ability to work alternative shifts during evenings and weekends to support events is required. Experience in processing or tracking reservations and/or the use of reservations software is preferred. Knowledge of or prior experience with campus financial and/or HR systems is preferred.
