The Department of Curriculum & Instruction in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks candidates for a full-time, benefited, non-tenure-track Lecturer position. The candidates should have teaching expertise and practice-based experience in early childhood education and care and child development, or a closely related field (such as human development, child development, psychology, family studies, education policy, etc.), to begin Spring 2025.
Assistant Director- Financial Aid Counselor Financial Aid Office
The Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for communicating and disseminating financial aid information, policies and procedures to graduate and undergraduate students and families through in-person interviews, media and phone consultations; and is responsible for keeping staff abreast of policy and regulatory changes affecting student eligibility and ensuring consistency in applying policies throughout the Financial Aid Services organization. The role of counselor requires a thorough knowledge of all federal and state regulations and institutional policies governing the financial aid programs. The Assistant Director, Counselor acts independently in counseling students, awarding aid and adjusting aid packages; and is responsible for the financial aid application verification process. The incumbent uses professional judgment, in accordance with federal regulations, to adjust financial aid awards due to unique family situations, student enrollment plans and in coordination of external aid awards. In addition, the Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for managing federal, state and/or institutional financial aid programs as assigned; including but not limited to awarding, disbursing, reconciling cash receipts and expenditures and monthly/annual reconciliations.
Assistant Professor- (School for the Environment) Urban Planning&Community Dev
The Department of Urban Planning and Community Development (UPCD) in the School for the Environment at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB) seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin September 1, 2025. We invite scholars specializing in workforce development who use environmental sustainability, equity, and community engagement frameworks in their scholarship, teaching, and service. We are especially interested in candidates whose planning scholarship and practice focuses on (but not limited to) the following areas: • Transformations in urban and regional labor markets to expand workforce development, especially in the green and blue economic sectors, by tapping into underserved and economically distressed communities. • Resident-led and community-based economic development planning initiatives include small business incubators, cooperative businesses, micro-lending, and credit unions/community development finance institutions. • Community/university development partnerships advancing applied scholarship in workforce and community development to expand job and economic development opportunities for distressed communities.
Head Women's Field Hockey Coach Athletics
The Head Coach is responsible for, but not limited to, the development, leadership and administration of the women’s field hockey program. This includes recruiting qualified student-athletes for a competitive team within the Little East Conference, practice organization and supervision, staff hiring/development, game scheduling, budget oversight, student-athlete development, academic monitoring, coordinating fundraising and community service events, and positive alumnae relations. The Head Coach is responsible for compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference and University of Massachusetts Boston rules and regulations. The Head Coach along with his/her assistant(s) may be required, upon a successful Registry of Motor Vehicles background check, to drive passenger vans for team travel. Participation is required in University and UMass Boston Athletic Department sponsored events such as the Open House and other fundraising events.
Registered Nurse Health Services
Under direction of the Director of General Medicine, health care providers (HCP) and the Lead Registered Nurse, the incumbent will provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process to the University of Massachusetts Boston campus community. The incumbent will be responsible for nursing duties including, but not limited to, triage, health assessment and assisting HCPs; and will provide proficient age specific and developmentally appropriate nursing care to college students.
Assistant Director- (Finance and Administration) Graduate Studies & Admissions
The Assistant Director, Finance and Administration is responsible for assisting the Director, Finance and Administration with the oversight and management of the Graduate Studies Assistantship program funds, Graduate Studies Fellowships, and Internships. Working under the direction of the Director, the incumbent will serve as a secondary interface for the Graduate Studies with the Graduate Employees Organization (GEO), including participation on the university bargaining team and provide information to support university administrators in the bargaining process. The Assistant Director, Finance and Administration will assist the Director, Finance and Administration with the creation and management of the Graduate Studies account annual budgets. The Assistant Director will also assist the Director with the management of Graduate research awards and fellowships. The Assistant Director, Finance and Administration is responsible for all duties of the Director in his/her absence to ensure the continuous operations of the department and fulfillment of stakeholder needs.
Assistant Professor (Urban Education Leadership & Policy Studies) Leadership in Education
The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Urban Education, Leadership, and Policy Studies in the Leadership in Education Department to begin September 1, 2025. We are seeking candidates with experience in supporting the success of racially minoritized students specifically in social justice and equity in education. We are interested in hiring a critical quantitative Pre-K to 12 urban education leadership scholar with expertise in one or more of the following areas: 1) justice-centered leadership preparation, 2) educational policy (e.g., policymaking, education law, policy implementation), 3) and/or school finance.
Data Integration Specialist IT Application Services
The University of Massachusetts Boston is seeking an experienced Data Integration Specialist and Subject Matter Expert to drive automation of processes and deliver the next evolution of our data exchange environment in a diverse and complex operating environment for the campus. The Data Integration Specialist will design and develop interfaces between applications, data warehouses and third-party systems in a combination of cloud and on-premise platforms. They will participate in developing integration strategy, architecture and frameworks for the organization. This role will have great communication skills working in close collaboration with campus internal IT, UMass Systems Office, and business stakeholders to provide integration solutions. Progressive Employment Research Intern Institute Community Inclusion
The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at the University of Massachusetts Boston and partners at the Disability Policy Consortium are looking for members of the disability community to work in a paid research internship as part of a research team studying employment for people with disabilities. The goal of the project is to study the Progressive Employment model, an emerging evidence-based practice that helps job seekers with disabilities to obtain competitive integrated employment. Of particular interest are candidates with scholarly expertise in race, class, and politics in public education. Specifically, we seek collaborative and equity-minded candidates whose research contributes to our understanding of how race, class and politics impact curriculum and the educational outcomes of urban children from pre-k to 12. This includes expertise on how teachers learn about and navigate these issues in the urban classroom for students at all educational levels. Scholars with expertise in community engaged scholarship that leads to the creation of community focused curricula for understanding antiracist practices in PK-12 schools are preferred.
Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training Health Services
The Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training within University Health Services will provide high-quality, time-effective, evidence-based and culturally responsive clinical services, including: triage; emergency and crisis intervention services; referrals and evaluations; as well as individual and group counseling and psychotherapy. The incumbent will also provide consultation to faculty and staff and provide outreach to the campus community. The incumbent will manage a caseload so as to serve the maximum number of students who are appropriate for services at the University Health Services Counseling Center; and will consult with and/or make timely and appropriate mental health referrals for students as needed. In addition, the Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training will provide leadership for the University Health Services Counseling Center Clinical Practicum and Advanced Clinical Practicum, serving as the liaison between the Counseling Center and the graduate programs in which the trainees are enrolled. The incumbent will guide the process of planning and producing the yearly practicum orientation, assuming primary responsibility for ensuring that trainees and practicum supervisors understand and act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Counseling Center; will oversee all data collection pertaining to the evaluation of the practicum; and will be responsible for overseeing the application process for the Advanced Clinical Practicum.
