Research Services Coordinator Healey Library
Under the direction of the Reference Archivist, the Research Services Coordinator facilitates research services in University Archives and Special Collections and the Archives Research Room in the Joseph P. Healey Library at the University of Massachusetts Boston. This position assists users with in-person and virtual reference and general information requests; supervises day-to-day activities in the Archives Research Room; locates, retrieves, and reshelves rare books, archival collections, and other departmental holdings for researcher and instruction use; provides excellent customer service; coordinates digitization efforts to support researcher access; assists with archival instruction activities; and ensures that university, Healey Library, and user standards and ethics are maintained. This position works closely with and as part of the University Archives and Special Collections team to identify and implement policies, procedures, and workflows that create a better experience for patrons, and helps to manage and set priorities for a team of student workers. The Research Services Coordinator is responsible for collecting, aggregating, and reporting statistics relating to University Archives and Special Collections operations and activities; and conducting ongoing and special projects to support the goals, priorities, and mission of the Archives, the Library, and the University.
Manager Fitness Athletics
The Fitness and Wellness Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of a culturally-centered and comprehensive fitness program within the Recreation Department of the Division of Athletics and Recreation that reflects the diversity of the campus. The Manager ensures the needs of all members, including students, faculty, staff and community are well served by offering group fitness, personal training, small group training, fitness outreach, and specialized programs. The Manager is also responsible for the management of the fitness staff and equipment.
Assistant Professor (Art & Art History) Art
The Art and Art History Department in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2025 in the area of Printmaking and will oversee our spacious, state of the art printmaking facility and to teach key courses in our studio art curriculum— undergraduate intaglio and relief printing processes. The print studio has three presses, including a new Takach Etching press. The applicant should be an artist with a record of creative practice in print and a working knowledge of related art forms such as digital printmaking, photography, drawing and book arts. Knowledge of contemporary approaches to printmaking and its art historical significance is also essential.

EDP Programmer II VC-University Advancement
The Gift Processing and Data Coordinator for University Advancement will be responsible for providing coordination of activities relating to data and gift processing. Also, run batch reports of gifts recorded and acknowledgement letters of donation. Work closely with the Director of Advancement Information Systems to maintain the Ellucian/Advance database structure; ensure data integrity, create and run reports. Oversee data entry staff and ensure that data is being accurately recorded in the Advance system. Assistant Vice Chancellor, Academic Administration and Financial Services Provost & VC Acad Affairs
Reporting to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and working closely with the Vice Chancellor for Administration & Finance, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Administration and Financial Services, provides a wide range of complex leadership, managerial, organizational, administrative and professional duties including: advancing the university vision, mission and strategic plan in relation to business and research support operations; providing key support and facilitation for implementing the university’s new activities-based budget model; identify and enable administrative and financial process efficiencies for sustained cost-effective service delivery in coordination with Administration and Finance; coordinating new and continuing academic program fiscal planning, projects and period review; providing leadership for strategic initiatives, including working with the deans, vice provosts, associate provosts, institute directors, faculty and staff in complex, collaborative research planning and support; and serving as a primary financial liaison between Administration and Finance and the Division of Academic Affairs. The University Police Officer will perform a full range of law enforcement functions. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 253 of the Acts of 2020 (“An Act Relative to Justice, Equity and Accountability in Law Enforcement in the Commonwealth”), the position of: The University Police Officer position is a regulated by the Massachusetts Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). University Police Officers are appointed as sworn police officers pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws chapter 75, section 32A and chapter 90C which grants University Police Officers the same authority, immunities and privileges as a duly appointed and qualified sworn police officer acting elsewhere in the Commonwealth. Under the general supervision of the University Patrol Sergeant, a University Police Officer patrols assigned areas of property used, owned, or occupied by the University of Massachusetts and areas adjacent to the university to provide a safe and secure environment for all members of the University community by means of an alert and vigilant preventive patrol. Work is performed in accordance with federal, state, and local laws as well as university and departmental policies, procedures, and general orders. Work is reviewed by inspection, through verbal and written reports, and by results achieved. University Police Officer candidates must have successfully completed a Massachusetts Basic Police Training Program from an accredited police academy, approved by the Municipal Police Training Council (MPTC) or have successfully completed training that is substantially equivalent to or greater than that of a Massachusetts police officer at a comparable level of experience to obtain an academy exemption through the MPTC. Contingent upon appointment, the appointee(s) shall be considered probationary through twelve (12) continuous months of service, beginning on the date the appointee(s) report for duty.

Program Manager MA Ofc of Public Collaboration

Communication Dispatcher II Public Safety
The Dispatcher II position is an entry level, uniformed non-sworn, support position for the University Police Department. Under general supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor or the shift commander, the Dispatcher II will perform a variety of specialized support duties the Police Communication Center. Support duties may include: Operating a centralized computer aided dispatch system (CAD) to dispatch non-emergency and 911 calls for service to the campus community. This includes receiving, prioritizing, and transmitting first notification of calls for service for police, fire, and medical assistance from the campus community. The Dispatcher II will operate a fixed radio system, transmitting messages to multiple and portable units under strict rules and regulations. The Dispatcher II communicates via state and national criminal databases and is responsible for effective and accurate communications between campus law enforcement, the public, and external law enforcement agencies. Extensively documents actions and outcomes from all police, fire, and medical incidents occurring on campus into the CAD system; and perform related work as required. Regular use of judgement and discretion is necessary to set priorities, assess the importance of information and react quickly and effectively.
Associate Lecturer (Psychology) Psychology
Associate Lecturer Positions in Psychology The Psychology Department at UMass Boston anticipates availability for non-tenure-track associate lecturers to teach sections of a range of introductory and intermediate courses, to start in fall. Associate Cross Country/Distance Coach Athletics
This is a full-time (12-month appointment) benefits eligible position. The Associate Cross Country/ Distance Coach’s responsibilities will include the management of all facets of the UMass Boston Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field programs in collaboration with the Head Coach. This position oversees cross country, distance, and middle-distance athletes. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to administration, budget management, alumni stewardship, recruiting, scheduling of competitions, meet management, including hiring officials, team travel, weekly practice sessions, academic monitoring, advising of students, community service events, and compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations. Additional responsibilities may include department-wide duties as assigned. The Associate Cross Country/ Distance Coach is responsible for compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), conference and University of Massachusetts Boston rules and regulations. The Associate Head Coach maybe be required, upon a successful Registry of Motor Vehicles background check, to drive passenger vans for team travel. Participation is required in University and UMass Boston Athletic Department sponsored events such as the Open House and other fundraising events.
Associate Lecturer (Center for Academic Excellence) Academic Support Programs
The Center for Academic Excellence anticipates availability for non-tenure-track associate lecturers to teach up to 2 sections (6-8 credits) of first-year seminar courses SEMINAR 114G: Investigations Across the Curriculum and/or CRW112: Critical Reading and Writing for the fall semester and occasionally spring semesters. Availability of courses depends on student enrollment and is not guaranteed beyond one semester. Both courses focus on critical reading, the analysis of texts, and the writing of academic papers. These highly scaffolded courses introduce students to the principles of college-level learning and provide intensive practice in the use of those principles in their other courses. CRW 112. Introduces students to the elements of academic thinking, with materials drawn from courses across the liberal arts curriculum. Students gain experience in the processes of intellectual inquiry as it is practiced in the liberal arts and sciences. Based on the course’s theme, students analyze and interpret readings drawn from different disciplines in the college curriculum. Students learn to distinguish the methods authors use in developing their ideas, and the differences and similarities among perspectives of various authors, as well as to recognize implications and to question authors' purposes. 3 Lect Hrs, 3 Credits. This course is typically followed by a First-Year Seminar in the next semester. Recent CRW 112 course topics include: Decision-making in the Courts and Other Contexts, Exploring Identity, and Reading American Culture. SEMINAR 114G The topically focused First-Year Seminars offer instruction in the capabilities defined by General Education and are a natural progression for students who have begun a course of study with CRW 112.

Business Manager VC for Info Technology and CIO
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for IT Business Operations (AVC), the Business Manager is responsible for assisting the development and monitoring of Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) budgets in close coordination with the Office of Budget and Financial Planning. The incumbent will advise the AVC on budgetary, personnel management and financial matters; will maintain records of departmental transactions; and will produce financial reports and analyses as needed. They will assist the AVC with the coordination of financial and administrative tasks of the entire unit; and will assist with administration of the grants and contracts as necessary. The Business Manager will assist and train other ITSD support staff on changing financial and procurement policy and procedural changes as they are implemented.
