Associate/Full Professor & Director - Institute for Community Inclusion Institute Community Inclusion
The College of Education and Human Development is seeking a tenured, equity-minded leader who can advance our college mission, in leading the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI). The Director will also hold a qualified Associate/Full Professor position in an academic unit within the College of Education and Human Development. The Director is responsible for providing overall direction and oversight for the ICI thereby implementing the ICI’s mission and values. The Director will work with senior staff to integrate operations, program development, strategic planning, academic and scholarly pursuits and external relationships across all interested partners and entities. The incumbent will be the public leader of the ICI and will help facilitate the integration of the activities of the ICI into the activities of the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD) and the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), as well as other institutes and centers of the University of Massachusetts Boston; and coordinate all ICI activities occurring at Boston Children’s Hospital. Specific areas of responsibility include strategic planning, organizational leadership and development, management of the ICI’s diverse programs and functions. The Director will supervise the Associate Director and core senior faculty/staff. The Director serves as the director of the University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and holds an appointment at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Senior Director of Digital Engagement VC-University Advancement
The Senior Director of Digital Engagement serves as the Office of University Advancement and Alumni Engagement’s point person for online content, with the primary objective of creating and implementing digital strategies to engage alumni and donors and deepen their connection to UMass Boston. Working closely with colleagues in the Advancement office as well as through active discovery, the Senior Director will utilize social media, email, and the web to enhance and further the connection UMass Boston alumni have with their alma mater and each other. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Engagement and exercising a high degree of creativity, independence, and strategic thinking, the incumbent will measurably increase alumni engagement and participation through digital engagement. The Office and Business Manager will assist the Membership Director in the daily operations of the Membership Office. Essential duties will include interpreting Membership policies, applying policies to data operations, data entry of Membership data, assisting in Membership mailings, and the processing of donations. Duties may also include as needed, aiding in general fundraising and other Membership activities, timely correspondence with station Members, and coordinating the activities of work-study students and volunteers.
Operations Manager Marine Operations
Provide technical assistance for the Division of Marine Operations. Incumbent inspects, maintains, repairs and modifies all types of related equipment such as floats, piers, gangways, moorings, boats and Fox Point Pavilion. We seek an innovative scientist with a strong Earth sciences background and broad training in the mathematical, physical, or engineering sciences, whose work advances understanding of climate processes and informs strategies for adaptation. Areas of research interest include (but are not limited to): climate modeling; climate impacts on Earth/environmental system functions; extremes, feedbacks, and nonlinear processes driving climate risks; climate change impacts on ecosystems, infrastructure, or communities; and quantitative and computational approaches (e.g., data analytics, AI) applied to climate challenges. We are interested in candidates who are currently working, or seek to work, across disciplines and in partnership with communities to help address the challenges of climate change.

Utility Plant Operator Facilities Admin
The Utility Plant Operator, within the Facilities Department, is responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning chiller systems, boilers and auxiliary machinery and equipment; operating electronic controls for heating and air conditioning systems; and for monitoring general, mechanical and/or electrical repairs on power distribution, chilled water, hot water, gas, domestic and de-ionized water, environmental rooms, freezers, fire alarm, remote building equipment monitoring, sanitary, acid waste and storm drain systems; respond to emergencies or equipment breakdowns; maintain adequate supply of fuel; and perform related work as required. The basic purpose of this work is to operate, monitor, maintain and repair utility systems and equipment and that the power plant facility is operated and maintained safely and efficiently. The Utility Plant Operator position is considered to be an Essential Personnel as defined by and detailed in the contract between the University and the Classified Staff Union (CSU).

The position will begin September 1, 2026. Areas of interest within microbial biology include (but are not limited to) the impact of microbial communities on human or environmental health, the effects of microbes on multiple levels of biological organization (i.e., from cells to ecosystems), interactions among microorganisms, and evolutionary processes in microbial communities.
