General Summary: 

The Division of Enrollment Management seeks a creative and experienced professional to serve as the Director of International Admissions. The Director of International Admission has the primary responsibility and oversight for the recruitment, processing, admitting, and enrolling of all degree-seeking undergraduate students, and will provide insight and support for international graduate student recruitment. The successful candidate will coordinate with both undergraduate and graduate admission teams to plan and execute a comprehensive international recruitment strategy and will be tasked with growing and maintaining strategic international partnerships. The Director of International Admissions will be responsible for the development and management of systems, practices and services that will enhance the recruitment and yield of international students.

Examples of Duties: 

  • Develop and implement an international student recruitment plan that meets enrollment goals and complements the University's overall strategic plan.
  • Employ data-driven strategies to identify new international recruitment markets while increasing awareness and reach in existing markets. Recruitment strategies may include in-market recruitment, leveraging systems and technologies, and utilizing current trends and best practices in international student recruitment.
  • In conjunction with divisional leadership, establish international enrollment goals based on institutional trends and market research.
  • Develop partnerships with key constituents such as, but not limited to, two-year and four-year colleges, EducationUSA centers, ESL programs, and consular and embassy officials in strategically identified global markets.
  • Support new and existing international partnerships.
  • Monitor, analyze, and produce reports on international student progress through the admissions funnel, taking action when needed.
  • Effectively leverage an Enrollment Management CRM to maximize recruitment and enrollment efforts.
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of dedicated international admission professionals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations regarding marketing campaigns/collateral for international recruitment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of foreign educational credential systems with the ability to advise on authenticity of credentials, including secondary and post-secondary documents.
  • Review and evaluate admissions applications.
  • Collaborate with campus partners and faculty on areas relating to international student recruitment, onboarding and/or success: English Language Programs, Global Programs, New Student & Family Programs, Academic Advising, Housing, etc.
  • Serve on campus-wide committees focused on international recruitment, enrollment, or student success.
  • Represent the University at various recruitment and yield events.
  • Utilize discretion in determining exceptions to policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Master’s degree required, with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience. Prior supervisory/management experience needed. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Proven track record of creating and executing a multifaceted international recruitment plan.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of graduate and/or undergraduate admissions and international recruitment strategies.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems and reporting.
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours.
  • Ability and demonstrated track-record of domestic and international recruitment travel.
  • Knowledge of best practices in international student recruitment, including SEVIS regulations and issues related to visa processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Technolutions’ Slate CRM
  • Fluency in a second language.
