Reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, the Director of the Project Management Office directs and oversees the process of identifying, defining, selecting, and optimizing all Information Technology projects to ensure alignment with institutional strategic goals and priorities. The Director exercises considerable independent judgment in accomplishing the work of the Project Management Office and is responsible for achieving desired results and managing major projects and related tasks in tandem with other units and/or independently. The Director works with project sponsors, key decision makers, information technology staff and other project-related resources in the planning and execution of major project initiatives. The Director also serves as campus project management representative and liaison with the University Information Technology Services Project Management Office and other multi-campus project governance related activities. Working closely with the senior IT leadership team, the Director serves as the champion for promoting project management best practices, methods, and techniques within the Information technology organization. Managing a team of three professional project managers, the Director of the Project Management Office is responsible for their project assignments, daily activities, and long-term initiatives.
