Job Description

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (www.umass.edu/sphhs) is seeking talented applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track clinical associate professor/clinic director position (12-month appointment) in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. The initial appointment period is two years with the possibility of renewal.

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the educational, business, fiscal, and privacy/security operations of the department’s clinic. This includes program development, marketing of clinic services, maintaining statistics on clinical services, oversight of clinical education with associated administrative duties, coordinating on-campus and off-campus clinical placement programs including clinical advising, executing off-campus affiliation agreements, tracking vaccination and background checks, supervising and supporting office staff and clinical service providers, and overseeing and assisting with clinical supervision of graduate students as needed. Possibilities exist for teaching and/or research activity. Providing service to the department, university, community, and profession is also expected, including participation on committees, projects, and other activities that support the university, college, and departmental mission.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Candidates must hold a Master’s, AuD, or PhD degree (PhD preferred) in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university or college; ASHA CCC; current Massachusetts License in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology, or eligibility for such license; 3-5 years’ experience supervising students. Experience in clinical administration is preferred.
