General Summary of Position:

VetsRISE is a new workforce training program for transitioning service members and their spouses. The open position is Program Manager, UML VetsRISE program, and is a benefited full-time position currently funded through 8/31/2025 with the possibility of renewal. The position will be responsible for managing a workforce training grant program: attracting program supporters / employers, assisting with attracting program participants as needed, creating curriculums, sourcing instructors, tracking detailed program metrics, reporting on activities, completing required grant reports, and other duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the management of the program by:

  • Ensuring that program obligations are met. Establishing and monitoring work plans and commitments. Modifying work plans as needed.
  • Contributing to strategic discussions on program directions and goals.
  • Attracting and collaborating with consultants, partners, and stakeholders to meet program goals.
  • Establishing and implementing policies and procedures needed for successful implementation of the program.
  • Participating on program calls and meetings
  • Filing reports required by the funder, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and by UML

Manage communications and outreach by:

  • Assisting with branding and communication strategies including websites, publications, and events.
  • Conducting outreach by email, phone, and in-person meetings with stakeholders, potential participants, workforce training experts, and others.
  • Planning and hosting targeted events
  • Representing the University at meetings, conferences, and university events.

Assist participants with:

  • Program logistics (stipends, meals, parking, supplies, etc.)
  • Overseeing logistics

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of related experience

Additional Considerations:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills across various levels

This is a Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit position, Grade P16.

This position is contingent upon funding. The initial appointment is currently funded through 8/31/2025 with a possibility of renewal based on successful performance and the availability of funding.
