    • Assistant/Associate Professor (Performing Arts) in UMass Boston

      The Department of Performing Arts, in the College of Liberal Arts, at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position for Music Education and Conductor of Chamber Orchestra. The position begins on September 1, 2026 and will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank. Primary duties include coordinating the Music Education program, which includes the Department’s BA Music – Music Education Track, and serving as the liaison with the University’s College of Education and Human Development Teacher Licensure Program. The successful candidate will teach courses such as chamber orchestra, instrumental methods, socio-cultural perspectives in music education, and advise students in the Music Education Track. The position holds a 2/2 teaching load and teaching/conducting chamber orchestra counts as one class. Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Performing Arts will be in keeping with the candidate’s experience and expertise. The candidate will also provide service to the University, profession, and surrounding community.

      Senior Assistant Director 1st Year Access & Outreach in UMass Boston

      The Senior Assistant Director for First-Year Access and Outreach will work within the Undergraduate Admissions Office and report to the Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions. The incumbent is responsible for attracting students to the University through traditional means of on and off-campus visits and attendance at college fairs and/or through special projects. This role will also be responsible for building strong relationships with personnel at high schools and community-based organizations (CBO) who influence a student’s decision-making process; monitoring prospects and applications from an assigned recruitment territory; creating and implementing strategies to convert prospects to enrolled students; reviewing and rendering admission decisions; conducting information sessions; and providing career and enrollment counseling.

    • Assistant Professor (Performing Arts) in UMass Boston

      The Performing Arts Department, in the College of Liberal Arts, at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Acting and Directing to begin on September 1, 2026. Primary responsibilities include teaching Theatre Arts majors in the undergraduate performance curriculum and directing one departmental theatre production annually. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in acting and directing at all levels of the curriculum, and will also direct a range of potential theatre productions. Ideally, candidates will have one or more additional strengths in such areas as fight choreography, musical theatre, and movement or voice for the actor. The position holds a 2/2 teaching load with the direction of a theater production counting as one class.

      MassBays NEP Director in UMass Boston

      The Director of the MassBays oversees and manages all aspects of the program's operations including overall fiscal management, short- and long-range planning, funds development and communications, and development of specific, annual budgets and work plans. The position supervises three direct staff positions and manages the contracts for five Regional Service Providers (RSPs). The RSPs hire Regional Coordinators, who are staff to the MassBays program and work in close collaboration with each other and MassBays Central staff under the guidance of the MassBays Director. The Director is the lead for developing and implementing initiatives and policies that support the implementation of the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP), the guiding document for MassBays, including initiatives related to water quality improvement, habitat protection and restoration, extreme weather, coastal resilience, and community engagement. The Director coordinates with the host entity (UMass Boston School for the Environment) and works closely with an EPA Region 1 Program Officer. The Director also serves as staff to the MassBays Management Committee and develops quarterly agendas for Committee meetings.

    • Assistant Director- Financial Aid Counselor in UMass Boston

      The Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for communicating and disseminating financial aid information, policies and procedures to graduate and undergraduate students and families through in-person interviews, media and phone consultations; and is responsible for keeping staff abreast of policy and regulatory changes affecting student eligibility and ensuring consistency in applying policies throughout the Financial Aid Services organization. The role of counselor requires a thorough knowledge of all federal and state regulations and institutional policies governing the financial aid programs. The Assistant Director, Counselor acts independently in counseling students, awarding aid and adjusting aid packages; and is responsible for the financial aid application verification process. The incumbent uses professional judgment, in accordance with federal regulations, to adjust financial aid awards due to unique family situations, student enrollment plans and in coordination of external aid awards. In addition, the Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for managing federal, state and/or institutional financial aid programs as assigned; including but not limited to awarding, disbursing, reconciling cash receipts and expenditures and monthly/annual reconciliations.
