Professional Academic Advisor/Retention Support Specialist (part-time/temporary) UMass Lowell
The Centers for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS) is a centrally coordinated student academic support center and provides advising, tutoring, success coaching and a wide range of academic support services to all UMass Lowell students. The Centers for Learning offers these services on both north and south campus and has professional advisors located both centrally and within the academic colleges. The Centers for Learning is actively engaged in university-wide student success initiatives and partners with academic colleges, student affairs and other units on campus to support the retention, persistence, and graduation of all our students. This professional academic advising position requires an advanced, developmental, proactive problem-solving approach to advisement to ensure students succeed academically and are fully engaged in their educational experience. The primary responsibilities include advising a caseload of first-time freshman and/or transfer students on program requirements and registration issues, degree planning, monitoring student progress, re-enrollment outreach, and supporting at-risk students. The position also involves assisting with the support of various activities and events promoting student engagement and community building. Participation in recruitment, outreach and orientation activities required.
Professor (All ranks) (Gerontology) UMass Boston
Seeking Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor level in the Department of Gerontology to begin on September 1, 2025. The Department seeks to increase the number of tenure-track faculty conducting research on aging among historically underrepresented and marginalized groups. Areas of specialization include a strong research focus on DISPARITIES IN LONG-TERM SERVICES AND SUPPORTS (LTSS), both from basic science and policy research lines.
Postdoctoral Research Associate 100% - CBIKS UMass Amherst
This position is with the Center for Braiding Indigenous Knowledges and Science (CBIKS), a National Science Foundation Science & Technology Center. This position assists CBIKS thematic research groups in conducting “science of science” research within the CBIKS network. The eight research theme areas at CBIKS are: ethics, data sovereignty, relationality & research development, fieldwork & braiding knowledges, formal & informal science education, storywork & knowledge mobilization, training scientists, and policy & government agencies. This is an on-site position at CBIKS Central on the UMass Amherst campus in Amherst, MA with the possibility of some remote work. This is a one-year position with a possibility of renewal for a second year.
Associate Professor (tenured) Public History/Associate Director of Slavery North Initiative UMass Amherst
The Department of History at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a tenured position in the Public Histories of North American Enslavement. The appointment will be at the Associate Professor level beginning Fall 2025. For its initial three years (with potential for renewal) the position will be affiliated with Slavery North, an initiative that seeks to advance social justice by centering the cultures, experiences, lives, and resistance of enslaved peoples in Canada and the US North while bolstering public understanding of the social and cultural impacts of trans-Atlantic slavery and its legacies in the North, including how that history manifests in anti-Black racism today.
