Assistant Professor - Mathematics Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Mathematics starting September 1, 2026. The research area of interest is in applied mathematics with a preferred emphasis in Theoretical and Computational Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, and/or Mathematical Molecular Biology. We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests which promote synergy and collaboration with the current department and college faculty. Although we are primarily interested in hiring an applied mathematician with one of the above specializations, exceptional candidates from other areas are encouraged to apply.
Assistant Professor - Computer Science Computer Science
The Computer Science Department at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position to begin September 1, 2026. We will consider strong candidates in any research area but will prioritize Artificial Neural Networks.
Assistant Professor- Microbial Ecology Biology
The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor to pursue a research program in microbial ecology. The position will begin September 1, 2026. Areas of interest within microbial biology include (but are not limited to) the impact of microbial communities on human or environmental health, the effects of microbes on multiple levels of biological organization (i.e., from cells to ecosystems), interactions among microorganisms, and evolutionary processes in microbial communities.
Assistant Professor- Gerontology Gerontology
The Department of Gerontology seeks applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Research focus is open, with preference given to research expertise at the intersection of AGING AND HEALTH DISPARITIES related to COGNITIVE AGING AND DEMENTIA, ECONOMICS AND RETIREMENT, SPATIAL METHODS AND THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH, and AI AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS. Outstanding candidates with other research interests will be considered as well.
Assistant Professor - Genetics Biology
The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor to pursue a research program using genetic tools to investigate mechanistic molecular biological phenomena. The position will begin September 1, 2026.
