General Summary: 

Reporting to the Asst. Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the Director of Enrollment Management Marketing will work in support of the Division of Enrollment Management’s overall enrollment strategy for both new and continuing graduate and undergraduate students. The Director will help develop and execute multiple marketing campaigns for a broad spectrum of student types including, but not limited to, first-year, transfer, international, continuing, graduate and veteran students. The incumbent requires strong creative and communication competencies and a general understanding of the enrollment process from prospective student to commencement. 

Examples of Duties: 

  • Develops marketing, communications and promotional plans and materials to recruit and yield first-year, transfer, graduate and international students, including email, printed material, social media content, digital advertising, and website management
  • Collaborates with various university constituents, as well as departments within the Division of Enrollment Management to develop strategic and integrated marketing campaigns for undergraduate and graduate prospective students and continuing students
  • Manages the day-to-day content development (write, edit, proof, design), execution and measurement, and uses data and industry best practices to recommend ways to optimize campaigns in order to meet stated enrollment goals
  • Actively utilizes CRM system for the purpose of developing email and SMS campaigns, and analyzing campaign results
  • Identifies KPIs and metrics that support assessment and progress towards goals and objectives set by the Division of Enrollment Management; provides regular and ad hoc reports with insights and recommendations
  • Cultivate and measure lead generation to optimize conversion to application and enrollment.
  • Serves as the enrollment marketing liaison to various recruitment teams and campus partners, as well as external vendors/partners, and leads the strategic development, design, execution, analysis, and management of multiple communication campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Engagement, academic deans, program directors, department chairs and faculty to create college and/or program-specific marketing content and collateral
  • Actively seek out student, faculty, alumni, and staff stories that support the strategic messages that are central to both university and divisional marketing/branding
  • Employs a wide range of media including email, social media, web, video, and print to ensure that all forms of media are fully and effectively utilized and coordinated with all campaigns
  • Stays abreast of industry developments, regulations and technology – in the fields of both higher education and advertising/marketing – to maintain professional competence, knowledge and skills
  • Serve on ad-hoc committees as required;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree preferred, and a minimum of three to five (3-5) years in managing communication projects and/or marketing campaigns. Demonstrated experience in professional level writing (i.e. marketing copywriting, journalism writing, advertising copywriting. Familiarity with CRM systems and basic web editing abilities required. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or a similar product and video post-production, preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, as well as independently with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks while respecting multiple deadlines and using time efficiently;
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, as well as departmental staff, and be thoughtful of a multicultural environment;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
