The School for the Environment seeks a full-time non-tenure track position as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Coastal Engineering to contribute to teaching in the environmental sciences and research in coastal engineering to begin January 1, 2027. This position offers an opportunity to work at the interface of engineering, ecology, and applied coastal management, contributing to research that directly informs planning, policy, and implementation in Boston Harbor and beyond. Director of Programs in UMass Boston
The Director of Programs will serve as the chief daily operations officer for the Talent Search and Talent Search TBACHS programs. The incumbent will have administrative responsibility for the oversight, development, and implementation of both programs, ensuring that program objectives are being met and that the programs comply with funder regulations and guidelines. The Director of Programs will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating programs, personnel, and fiscal matters within the programs and for directly supervising program staff. They will also work closely with the Senior Director of Programs and Initiatives in the formulation of new program procedures, will make decisions with regards to the application of existing procedures, and will assist with the development and preparation of external grant applications and in the identification and pursuit of new funding opportunities. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other departments in the unit and across campus to ensure coordination and integration of activities and will work closely with the Boston Public Schools and community partners to foster collaboration and student success in pre-college programs.

The Assistant Director, Student Employment provides key support for UMass Lowell’s robust student employment program, including federal, institutional, and community-based employment opportunities. In close collaboration with the associate director, the assistant director ensures compliance with federal/state financial aid regulations and established institutional policy and procedures, promotes the importance of providing students with meaningful work and career-connected experiences, and strives to continuously improve the student employment program. Further, the assistant director serves as a contact for on-campus and off-campus employers and supervisors to resolve problems and to provide information and training on the student employment program.
