    Executive Assistant to the Dean in UMass Boston

    Reporting to the Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), the Executive Assistant to the Dean provides high-level administrative, communications, and project support that advances the College's mission and strategic initiatives.  The Executive Assistant (EA) serves as a central hub for coordination, communication, and execution for the Dean and within the Dean's Office. This role combines traditional executive support with a broader portfolio that includes communications at multiple levels.  The EA plays a key role in managing the Dean's calendar, ensuring the effective flow of information and materials, and serves as a primary liaison between the Dean's Office, internal stakeholders, and external partners. The role includes meeting coordination, and office organization. The EA supports and may coordinate projects and events, collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure high-quality execution. A significant portion of the role involves contributing to and managing College-level communications, including website updates, social media engagement, and newsletter contributions, to promote CSM programs, events, research, and success. The incumbent also serves as the primary interface for students and visitors to the Dean's Office, ensuring that all interactions reflect the College's values of professionalism, accessibility, and student-centered service.

    Program Coordinator II (Visual Studies Program) in UMass Boston

    The Program Coordinator, within the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD), will provide leadership in supporting and expanding the existing Vision Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) program from a regional model to one that will support applicants nationally and internationally. The incumbent will work closely with the Vision Studies Program Director to maintain the high standards through growth and development of the VRT program. The incumbent will provide program implementation and will review applications, conduct interviews, provide advising and support pre-practicum and preparation for practicum. The incumbent will maintain the program database, as well as participate in accreditation activities; and will participate in state and federal data collection, as required. S/he will conduct outreach and build partnerships with a wide range of state agencies and community organizations; will work with the Vision Studies team to develop best practices and products which will be disseminated locally and nationally addressing the issues related to the preparation of highly qualified professionals in visual impairment; and will teach the VRT area coursework. The incumbent will be required to travel throughout the state, and national travel may also be required based on project assignments.

    The Program Coordinator for the Graduate Programs of the Department of English will serve as the first point of contact, coordinate and provide administrative and program support to the English Department’s graduate programs. The incumbent will provide routine and timely information and assistance to graduate students, prospective students and faculty regarding program, department and University requirements and will maintain all programmatic needs; will track and register students into relevant university systems; and will liaise with internal and external constituents to exchange information, resolve problems and/or facilitate progress of departmental programs, functions and activities. The incumbent will assist Graduate Program Directors with recruitment efforts, including coordinating program Infosessions and attending Graduate Program Fairs; advise graduate students on program/concentration requirements and confirm degree audits with the Registrar’s office. The incumbent will work with the Administrative Director of the Department of English on all graduate program budgetary items. The incumbent will work closely with the Graduate Program Directors for the MA and the MFA programs, as well as all department Faculty, the Administrative Director and Chair of the department; and will also provide back-up administrative support to other areas of the department, as requested.
