Assistant Professor - Biology Education Biology
The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor to pursue a teaching and research program focused on Biology Education and/or pedagogy in science. The position will begin September 1, 2026. We will prioritize candidates who are committed to improving student success in the first years of undergraduate study. The faculty member will focus on teaching and/or leading instructional teams in our core first-year General Biology courses. They will also stimulate the development of pedagogical models that can be adapted for other courses, establish an externally funded research program, direct the research of graduate and undergraduate students, and interact with a dynamic group of biologists in research areas ranging from molecular and cellular biology to ecology and evolution. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree and relevant postdoctoral research or teaching experience. Assistant Professor - Power Systems Engineering

Post Doctoral Research Fellow Biology
The Kelliher lab at UMass Boston is seeking a postdoctoral colleague to join our community, recently awarded a 5-year MIRA grant from NIGMS (R35 GM157067) to study how circadian rhythms interact with nutrients in the environment and cellular metabolism. We utilize the fungal model system Neurospora as well as mammalian cell culture. We employ genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and bioinformatics to study mechanisms of circadian compensation, clock transcriptional networks, and cross-talk between the circadian oscillator and metabolism.
Community Service Officer Public Safety
A Community Service Officer (CSO) is an unarmed, uniformed security position, and is a non-sworn (civilian) member of the UMass Boston Police Department (UMBPD). With a strong emphasis on community engagement, CSO’s are responsible for performing a variety of duties to assist the (UMBPD) with its campus safety and community policing efforts. CSO’s assist UMBPD to make connections between students, faculty, staff, and other members of the community. The incumbent of this position enforces university policy, by-laws, the student code of conduct, and performs other non-criminal police related duties such as: community engagement and outreach; patrolling the campus on foot and/or be assigned to a designated post; provides direction, general information, and resources to the public, issuing parking tickets; performing walking escorts; respond to non-criminal complaints, building checks and other duties assigned. CSO’s are essential employees that do not carry firearms and have no powers of arrest.
Cape MA TA Center Director BIRCh Center
The Behavioral Health Integrated Resources for Children (BIRCh) Center at the University of Massachusetts seeks a Cape Cod Massachusetts Regional School-Based Behavioral Health Technical Assistance (SBBH TA) Center Director. The BIRCh Center is a statewide initiative aimed at providing professional development and resources for schools to enhance the coordination of behavioral health supports across school and community agencies. A significant task of this recently state-funded project is to develop a statewide SBBH TA Center. Assistant/Associate Professor (Performing Arts) Performing Arts
The Department of Performing Arts, in the College of Liberal Arts, at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position for Music Education and Conductor of Chamber Orchestra. The position begins on September 1, 2026 and will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank. Primary duties include coordinating the Music Education program, which includes the Department’s BA Music – Music Education Track, and serving as the liaison with the University’s College of Education and Human Development Teacher Licensure Program. The successful candidate will teach courses such as chamber orchestra, instrumental methods, socio-cultural perspectives in music education, and advise students in the Music Education Track. The position holds a 2/2 teaching load and teaching/conducting chamber orchestra counts as one class. Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Performing Arts will be in keeping with the candidate’s experience and expertise. The candidate will also provide service to the University, profession, and surrounding community.
Assistant Professor (Performing Arts) Performing Arts
The Performing Arts Department, in the College of Liberal Arts, at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Acting and Directing to begin on September 1, 2026. Primary responsibilities include teaching Theatre Arts majors in the undergraduate performance curriculum and directing one departmental theatre production annually. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in acting and directing at all levels of the curriculum, and will also direct a range of potential theatre productions. Ideally, candidates will have one or more additional strengths in such areas as fight choreography, musical theatre, and movement or voice for the actor. The position holds a 2/2 teaching load with the direction of a theater production counting as one class.
Assistant Director- Financial Aid Counselor Financial Aid Office
The Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for communicating and disseminating financial aid information, policies and procedures to graduate and undergraduate students and families through in-person interviews, media and phone consultations; and is responsible for keeping staff abreast of policy and regulatory changes affecting student eligibility and ensuring consistency in applying policies throughout the Financial Aid Services organization. The role of counselor requires a thorough knowledge of all federal and state regulations and institutional policies governing the financial aid programs. The Assistant Director, Counselor acts independently in counseling students, awarding aid and adjusting aid packages; and is responsible for the financial aid application verification process. The incumbent uses professional judgment, in accordance with federal regulations, to adjust financial aid awards due to unique family situations, student enrollment plans and in coordination of external aid awards. In addition, the Assistant Director, Counselor is responsible for managing federal, state and/or institutional financial aid programs as assigned; including but not limited to awarding, disbursing, reconciling cash receipts and expenditures and monthly/annual reconciliations.
Assistant Professor (Sociology) Sociology
The Department of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB) invites qualified persons to apply for a tenure-track assistant professor position to join our faculty beginning September 1, 2026. Candidates should have demonstrated research and teaching strengths in the sociology of gender/sexualities with a preference for candidates who can teach Queer Theory/Methods. Candidates who are able to teach a first-year course for sociology majors requiring qualitative methods preferred. Candidates should have an emerging/established research program with the potential to generate external funding, a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring, the capacity to expand diversity initiatives on campus, and enhance the university’s commitment to public service.
