Administrative Director Biology
The Administrative Director of the Biology Department works closely with the Department Chair to manage the overall operation of the Biology Department, from day-to-day operations to high-level and long-range planning. The Director oversees all organizational, financial, personnel, and academic operations and is directly responsible for financial, budgetary, and personnel matters. The incumbent oversees staff who are responsible for purchasing, course scheduling, course assignments of instructors and graduate students, and other aspects of Department operation. In consultation with the Chair, the Director engages in budgetary, personnel, operations, and Departmental space planning. The incumbent provides overall administrative support to the Chair, faculty, staff, and other personnel, and provides post-award grant support for all sponsored projects. The Director is the first point of contact for the Department and represents the Department on committees that require knowledge of fiscal and personnel procedures and mechanisms.
Senior Assistant Director of Financial Aid Financial Aid Office
he Senior Assistant Director/Financial Aid Counselor is a key contributor to meeting Division of Enrollment Management and University goals for recruitment, retention and superior service by assisting students and families in navigating forms, technology and deadlines associated with applying for, receiving and maintaining financial aid eligibility. The Senior Assistant Director/Counselor is responsible for a reduced caseload of Undergraduate and Graduate students. The incumbent will communicate and disseminate financial aid information, policies and procedures to students and families via email, phone and through in-person and virtual meetings
Lecturer (Economics) Economics
The Department of Economics at UMass Boston invites applications for a Lecturer in Economics for 2024-25. We have a particular interest in Health Economics but will consider all fields. Evidence of successful teaching with diverse students, including international students, is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses per semester and provide service to the department.
Lecturer (Performing Arts) Performing Arts
UMass Boston’s Department of Performing Arts seeks applicants for a benefited, full time faculty position at the rank of Lecturer (non-tenure track) in Sound and Lighting Design for the Academic Year 2024-25, starting September 1, 2024. Our Performing Arts programs (BA in Theatre, BA in Music, minor in Dance) are small but robust programs with faculty who are dedicated to student success. We seek a motivated individual to collaborate with current faculty and add their expert skills in teaching our students. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the undergraduate Theatre and Music programs, designing lighting and sound for departmental events, mentoring student practicum and performing departmental service.

Financial Analyst/Accountant Controller's Office
Under the direction of the Associate Controller, the Financial Analyst/Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions that support the production of financial statements that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”). The Financial Analyst/Accountant works closely with the Property Specialist to account for capital assets and oversee the management of campus property and inventory control requirements as mandated by Federal & State regulatory agencies and the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees. The Financial Analyst/Accountant also supports the Controller’s Staff in reconciling system interfaces and recording adjusting entries, if necessary, for all university financial activity.

Research Analysts’ work focuses heavily on activities related to data collection, analysis, and reporting of findings. Community Service Officer Public Safety
A Community Service Officer (CSO) is an unarmed, uniformed security position, and is a non-sworn (civilian) member of the UMass Boston Police Department (UMBPD). With a strong emphasis on community engagement, CSO’s are responsible for performing a variety of duties to assist the (UMBPD) with its campus safety and community policing efforts. CSO’s assist UMBPD to make connections between students, faculty, staff, and other members of the community. The incumbent of this position enforces university policy, by-laws, the student code of conduct, and performs other non-criminal police related duties such as: community engagement and outreach; patrolling the campus on foot and/or be assigned to a designated post; provides direction, general information, and resources to the public, issuing parking tickets; performing walking escorts; respond to non-criminal complaints, building checks and other duties assigned. CSO’s are essential employees that do not carry firearms and have no powers of arrest.
Associate Director of Advancement Services VC-University Advancement
The Associate Director of Advancement Services will play an integral role as a member of the Advancement Services team in University Advancement. He/she will be responsible for coordinating activities relating to data and gift processing such as maintaining an integrated system of daily gift batches, producing gift receipts, individualized acknowledgement letters, and gift transaction reports in accordance with established procedures. In addition, he/she will work on special projects assigned by the Senior Director of Advancement Services. The Associate Director will report directly to the Sr. Director of Advancement Services and work closely with the Advancement Services and Finance area.
Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training Health Services
The Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training within University Health Services will provide high-quality, time-effective, evidence-based and culturally responsive clinical services, including: triage; emergency and crisis intervention services; referrals and evaluations; as well as individual and group counseling and psychotherapy. The incumbent will also provide consultation to faculty and staff and provide outreach to the campus community. The incumbent will manage a caseload so as to serve the maximum number of students who are appropriate for services at the University Health Services Counseling Center; and will consult with and/or make timely and appropriate mental health referrals for students as needed. In addition, the Staff Psychologist and Coordinator of Clinical Training will provide leadership for the University Health Services Counseling Center Clinical Practicum and Advanced Clinical Practicum, serving as the liaison between the Counseling Center and the graduate programs in which the trainees are enrolled. The incumbent will guide the process of planning and producing the yearly practicum orientation, assuming primary responsibility for ensuring that trainees and practicum supervisors understand and act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Counseling Center; will oversee all data collection pertaining to the evaluation of the practicum; and will be responsible for overseeing the application process for the Advanced Clinical Practicum.
