The Apprenticeship Development and System Alignment Coordinator will be responsible for implementation of the Missouri Talent Pathways (M0-TAP) Registered Apprenticeship initiative, funded by the Missouri Division of Developmental Disabilities. Through MO-TAP, individuals participate in a registered apprenticeship program resulting in a career as a direct service professional supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to become members of their communities. The objectives of M0-TAP are: 1) Stabilize and structure the workforce of direct support professionals (DSPs) who assist and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with residential, skill development, employment, and community networking supports; 2) Construct career pathways for DSPs; 3) Develop talent pipelines for DSPs; 4) Standardize training in national best practice for DSPs; and 5) Improve health and healthy living outcomes of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are served by the Missouri Division of Developmental Disabilities, through CMS waiver funding.

Examples of Duties: 

  • Recruit Division of Developmental Disabilities service providers to participate as registered apprenticeship sites for MO-TAP.
  • Conduct outreach to develop talent pipelines for individuals to participate as registered apprentices in the MO-TAP initiative
  • Conduct outreach to identify the related technical instruction (RTI) sites for individuals participating as registered apprentices in MO-TAP.
  • Coordinate with US Department of Labor and the Office of Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship Missouri on registration of sites and apprentices in the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Management Data System (RAPIDS).
  • Work in partnership with the Missouri Division of Developmental Disabilities, in its role as the intermediary organization for the MO-TAP registered apprenticeship initiative.
  • Work in partnership with MO-TAP project partners to facilitate success of apprentices, and ensure apprentice support needs are met.
  • Provide programmatic oversight to include the development of standardized operating procedures, fidelity in implementation and quality management.
  • Develop communication and dashboards on the impact of MO-TAP, and provide reports as required on program progress.
  • Explore opportunities for expansion of project.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, human resources, vocational education, human services or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree requirements. A minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in workforce development and/or human services is required. Previous experience with apprenticeship programs preferred. Local and statewide travel is required.

  • Ability to coordinate and manage an array of project activities, to meet project goals;
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner;
  • Ability to maintain high level of program quality, and identify and address implementation issues as they arise;
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a team capacity, including with external partners, to accomplish goals related to project work;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong commitment to customer service;
  • Ability to utilize various forms of information technology for project management and communication.

This is an exempt union position. This is a grant funded position with a current end date of 6/30/2023, subject to renewal contingent on funding and university needs.
