Associate Lecturer Positions in Biology
The Department of Biology at UMASS Boston anticipates having several associate lecturer positions in biology starting 1 September 2022. Renewals are contingent upon performance, availability of resources, and need in the department.
The essential duties will be to teach between one and four lab sections (1 credit each) per semester in Anatomy and Physiology (primarily for Nursing majors) or Advanced Anatomy and Physiology (primarily for Biology majors). In addition to instruction, the successful candidates will be expected to follow standard departmental policies related to instruction and course coordination in multi-section classes.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong background in anatomy and physiology.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Commitment to supporting our goal of ensuring an inclusive, equitable, and diverse educational environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- A Master of Science degree in Biology or other field relevant to anatomy and physiology is strongly preferred.
- Experience in teaching in person and/or using online/remote formats.
- A documented record of excellence in classroom and/or online/remote instruction
