Research Laboratory Technician (temporary/non-benefited) Ctr for Prsnl Cancer Therapy
The Pathania laboratory is seeking a full-time research laboratory technician to join our team. As a lab technician, you will work closely with the Principal Investigator and graduate students to carry out research experiments related to Breast and Ovarian Cancer. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting mouse work, including husbandry and propagation of mice, mouse injections, and maintaining and organizing the mice catalog. Additionally, you will also be involved in molecular biology experiments, such as PCR, running DNA and protein gels, immunofluorescence studies, and cell culture with human cell lines.

The Department of Africana Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for three full-time, tenure track positions in the Africana Studies Department. Since its inception 50 years ago, the Africana Studies Department has made important contributions to the study of history, politics, and literature; of ancient and contemporary culture including the arts, religion, and socio-economic sciences; and of economic development and the broad dimensions of public policy that affect the societies and welfare of people of African descent. Clinical Social Work and Coordinator of Advanced Multicultural Training Program Health Services
The full-time Clinical Social Worker and Coordinator of the Advanced Multicultural Training Program within University Health Services Counseling Center will provide high-quality, time-effective, evidence-based and culturally responsive clinical services, including: triage; emergency and crisis intervention services; referrals and evaluations; as well as individual and group counseling and psychotherapy. The incumbent will also provide consultation to faculty and staff and provide outreach to the campus community. The incumbent will manage a caseload to serve the maximum number of students who are appropriate for services at the University Health Services Counseling Center; and will consult with and/or make timely and appropriate mental health referrals for students as needed. The creation of this position is a part of UHS’s commitment to centering the needs of our diverse student population, and providing advanced clinical training opportunities that can contribute to this mission. In addition to their above clinical responsibilities, the incumbent will work closely with the Training Coordinator and the Director to create an Advanced Multicultural Training Program at the Counseling Center and help maintain our existing training program. The Coordinator of Advanced Multicultural Training will develop relationships with relevant academic departments such as psychology, counseling, and social work graduate programs; pursue any relevant certification; oversee an application process for advanced clinical training; organize orientation and ongoing training and supervision opportunities for advanced trainees across diverse disciplines. The Coordinator of the Advanced Multicultural Training Program will assume primary responsibility for ensuring that trainees and supervisors in the training program understand and act in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Counseling Center.

Lecturer (Computer Science) Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applications for two full-time, benefited, non-tenure-track Lecturers at a competitive salary level, to begin January 23, 2023. The initial appointment will be for the Spring 2023 semester, with renewals possible subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding. One of the positions will involve instruction at the undergraduate level in a range of computer science topics and participation in shaping our undergraduate curriculum. Primary responsibilities include teaching four courses each semester, developing new course materials, and advising students. The candidate must hold a Master's degree or higher degree in Computer Science or a related area and have prior experience in teaching Computer Science at the university level and working in the Software or Information Technology industry. Knowledge of assembly programming, computer architecture, and operating systems is highly desirable. The second position additionally includes teaching at the graduate level, with a focus in software engineering courses. Our graduate program is growing rapidly, and most of its students need to take a sequence of three software engineering courses that prepare them for employment in the software industry. Industry experience in software engineering is therefore an important qualification for this position, plus a PhD degree in Computer Science or a closely related field that is mandatory for teaching graduate courses.

Visiting Assistant Professor Counseling & School Psychology
The Department of Counseling and School Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in Mental Health Counseling beginning September 1, 2022. Position is for one year, with potential for a second year, contingent upon performance and funding. Applicants will contribute to both online and in person M.S. degree programs in Mental Health Counseling. Responsibilities: The individual in this position would teach courses primarily online in the M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program as well as teach in person. The individual would contribute clinical expertise and teach internship seminar courses as well as other content-based courses in the M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program. Requirements: Doctorate or master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or a related field with 3 years post-graduation experience. Licensure in Massachusetts or eligibility for licensure. Teaching experience. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have a doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or related field though applicants with a master’s degree and significant clinical and supervisory experience will also be considered.
