General Ledger Systems & Info Admin Controller's Office
The General Ledger Systems and Management Information Administrator reports to the Controller and is responsible for configuration of the general ledger financial system for the campus, particularly the management of financial system tables, translation rules and structure that supports business processes, financial reporting, and system security. The position is also responsible for monitoring financial system operational and transactional status, identifying and analyzing system-based issues, and designing operational and technical solutions. In the case of general ledger system upgrades or replacement, The General Ledger Systems and Management Information Administrator will act as the GL Campus Liaison and participate in university wide meetings ensuring upgrade/implementation deadlines are met.
Director of Financial Administration Provost & VC Acad Affairs
The Director of Financial Administration will report to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Administration and Financial Services (AVC) with providing comprehensive financial and administrative support to the Deans, Vice and Associate Provosts, Directors, Assistant Deans, and other staff within Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include assisting with budget development, financial reporting, and analysis, as well as forecasting. The position also supports the AVC in reconciling the Academic Affairs budget, managing faculty development funds, and tracking course buy-outs and releases. The role includes supervising the central business service ensuring accurate and timely processing of all financial, budgetary, and human resources transactions. The position will represent Academic Affairs at various meetings and serve as signature authority for specific areas within the division.

Utility Plant Operator Facilities Admin
The Utility Plant Operator, within the Facilities Department, is responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning chiller systems, boilers and auxiliary machinery and equipment; operating electronic controls for heating and air conditioning systems; and for monitoring general, mechanical and/or electrical repairs on power distribution, chilled water, hot water, gas, domestic and de-ionized water, environmental rooms, freezers, fire alarm, remote building equipment monitoring, sanitary, acid waste and storm drain systems; respond to emergencies or equipment breakdowns; maintain adequate supply of fuel; and perform related work as required. The basic purpose of this work is to operate, monitor, maintain and repair utility systems and equipment and that the power plant facility is operated and maintained safely and efficiently. The Utility Plant Operator position is considered to be an Essential Personnel as defined by and detailed in the contract between the University and the Classified Staff Union (CSU).
Technical Specialist for Graduation (EDP Programmer III) Registrar's Office
Registrar Technical Specialists are subject matter experts in one or more areas of work carried out by the Registrar’s Office: registration, records, graduation, scheduling etc.  Registrar Technical Specialists are responsible for carrying out the regular business practices associated with each of those areas.  They will be responsible for keeping up to date on academic and University policies associated with their areas and be able to apply those policies and practices to their particular area of responsibility.  They are responsible for developing and implementing business practices for their areas that are in compliance with University policies, academic requirements and legal requirements (FERPA, etc). Technical Specialists serve as first points of contacts for students and other business offices regarding matters related to their areas, including acting as primary liaisons for their areas to Undergrad Studies, University Advising, One Stop, Graduate Studies, Financial Aid, Admissions, etc.  They are expected to develop expertise in the particular software programs and applications required in their areas which may include: PeopleSoft, the CollegeSource degree audit system (uAchieve), Perceptive Content, Salesforce, Acalog, Curriculog, etc.  In addition, Technical Specialists will share in covering office-wide responsibilities including phone and email coverage.
Laboratory Technician I Biology
The Research Technician provides support to an academic research laboratory studying cell and developmental biology using the model organism fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. The main responsibilities are to assist with and support the molecular and cell biology research in the lab as well as assist with Drosophila care and experimentation. The applicant will have the opportunity to carry out an independent research project.
Assistant Professor (English) English
The English Department seeks an Assistant Professor specializing in Early Modern Literatures (1500-1800), beginning September 1, 2026. Scholars with research interests in Critical Race Studies, Gender and Sexuality, or Disability Studies, and a commitment to teaching the early modern past—canonical and underrepresented texts alike—from BIPOC, feminist, queer, and/or trans perspectives are especially encouraged to apply. All candidates with publication and teaching expertise in Early Modern Studies will be considered. Also required are a record or clear promise of publication, a record of strong teaching, and a commitment to departmental and institutional service.
Business Systems Analyst II IT Application Services
Working in a team environment, the Business System Analyst II will actively participate in the needs assessment and system requirement process of all business applications development, detailing requirements for systems. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing application products to determine where the software fits campus business needs and where gaps exist that may need to be addressed; and will provide solutions to potential changes in business practice to enhance the University's strategic goals, as well as to accommodate the software. The incumbent will also be responsible for producing designs and detailed requirements for software use, both "as delivered" and for any appropriate software modification necessary to overcome gaps; for assisting in the development, testing and implementation of application products; and for providing potential policy considerations and long-range strategic goals to further organizational business needs.
Administrative Manager Engineering
Reporting to the Engineering Department Chair, the Administrative Manager will work closely with the Chair and serve as a liaison to the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) Dean's Office, the Unified Procurement Services Team (UPST), the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS), the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), Human Resources (HR), and other relevant stakeholders on matters related to the department's finances, budget, personnel actions, student requests, and day-to-day administrative operations. The incumbent will directly supervise staff and serve as the main point of contact for the department.
Assistant Director of Advising CM - Undergraduate Program
The Assistant Director of Advising and Student Success will provide academic advising to improve student retention and reduce time to graduation, support students in developing and reaching their individual academic goals, and aid students in accessing resources that enhance their student experience. Additionally, the Assistant Director will coordinate our learning community program for transfers students to best meet their needs as they enter the College of Management and progress toward graduation.
Academic & Professional Development Specialist Biology
The Academic and Professional Development Specialist is based in the Biology Department and collaborates with the Student Success Center in the College of Science and Mathematics as well as with other University departments. The specialist provides holistic mentoring and coaching to Biology majors, particularly upper-level students, to help them acquire the skills to pursue and balance academic, professional, and personal goals. This includes providing intensive discipline-based advising; supporting students to identify undergraduate research positions; offering academic and professional development workshops to provide information and training for research, internships, and other career opportunities; and guiding students to identify and apply to post-graduate programs.

The Administrative Manager for the Department of Physics, within the College of Science and Mathematics, will provide professional support to the chair by assisting with complex budget and grants administration and various human resources activities. The Administrative Manager is responsible for the financial management and administration of multi-dimensional functions directly associated with the grants including, but not limited to account maintenance, personnel actions, funding and expenditure reporting, grant-related purchasing activities and preparation of all grant-related financial and personnel paperwork. The Senior Research Associate will initiate, develop, lead, and conduct research and related projects for the Institute for Asian American Studies. Responsibilities include seeking external funding; pursuing collaborations with a variety of entities including faculty, government agencies and community-based organizations; and supervising research and program support staff. Applicants should have a PhD in Classics, and a demonstrable interest in spoken ancient Greek or Latin and Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and the application of the latter to ancient language pedagogy. The candidate will have an interest in outreach to schools, an ability to oversee teaching practica, and consonant with these interests, be ready to teach graduate-level and undergraduate courses in the Classics and Religious Studies Department. The successful candidate will also contribute to interdisciplinary teaching in the College of Liberal Arts in Second Language Acquisition by collaborating with departments that specialize in modern languages such as Latin American and Iberian Studies, -Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and Applied Linguistics.
Assistant/Associate Professor (Performing Arts) Performing Arts
The Department of Performing Arts, in the College of Liberal Arts, at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position for Music Education and Conductor of Chamber Orchestra. The position begins on September 1, 2026 and will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank. Primary duties include coordinating the Music Education program, which includes the Department’s BA Music – Music Education Track, and serving as the liaison with the University’s College of Education and Human Development Teacher Licensure Program. The successful candidate will teach courses such as chamber orchestra, instrumental methods, socio-cultural perspectives in music education, and advise students in the Music Education Track. The position holds a 2/2 teaching load and teaching/conducting chamber orchestra counts as one class. Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Performing Arts will be in keeping with the candidate’s experience and expertise. Assistant Professor (Performing Arts) Performing Arts
The Performing Arts Department, in the College of Liberal Arts, at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Acting and Directing to begin on September 1, 2026. Primary responsibilities include teaching Theatre Arts majors in the undergraduate performance curriculum and directing one departmental theatre production annually. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in acting and directing at all levels of the curriculum, and will also direct a range of potential theatre productions. Ideally, candidates will have one or more additional strengths in such areas as fight choreography, musical theatre, and movement or voice for the actor. The position holds a 2/2 teaching load with the direction of a theater production counting as one class.
MassBays NEP Director SFE - Dean's Office
The Director of the MassBays oversees and manages all aspects of the program's operations including overall fiscal management, short- and long-range planning, funds development and communications, and development of specific, annual budgets and work plans. The position supervises three direct staff positions and manages the contracts for five Regional Service Providers (RSPs). The RSPs hire Regional Coordinators, who are staff to the MassBays program and work in close collaboration with each other and MassBays Central staff under the guidance of the MassBays Director. The Director is the lead for developing and implementing initiatives and policies that support the implementation of the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP), the guiding document for MassBays, including initiatives related to water quality improvement, habitat protection and restoration, extreme weather, coastal resilience, and community engagement. The Director coordinates with the host entity (UMass Boston School for the Environment) and works closely with an EPA Region 1 Program Officer. The Director also serves as staff to the MassBays Management Committee and develops quarterly agendas for Committee meetings.
