Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Psychology)
The post-doctoral fellow will join the UMass Boston team of a collaborative R01 titled: “Improving the Part C Early Intervention Service Delivery System for Children with ASD: A Randomized Clinical Trial.” Dr. Carter is the Principal Investigator (PI) at the UMass Boston site, (joined by Abbey Eisenhower who is a co-investigator). The other sites are led by Drs. Wendy Stone at the University of Washington, Brooke Ingersoll at Michigan State University, and Allison Wainer at Rush University Medical School. Dr. Carter is the PI of one of four collaborative R01 sites and also collaborates with Drs. Chris Sheldrick and Sarabeth Broder-Fingert at Boston Medical School. We are partnering with Part C Early Intervention programs to evaluate an online training in Reciprocal Imitation Training (RIT), a naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention, using a randomized controlled trial in which providers will be assigned to RIT or treatment as usual (TAU). Children with or at risk for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) working with providers assigned to RIT and TAU will be recruited and evaluated three times over a nine-month period. We will evaluate whether RIT improves children’s social communication and language outcomes relative to TAU as well as whether parents report lower parenting stress and greater parenting efficacy.
Assistant Director of Office of Faculty Development Provost & VC Acad Affairs
The mission of the Office for Faculty Development (OFD) is to advance the university mission by supporting faculty excellence in research and scholarship, teaching and learning, and community engaged scholarship by providing opportunities for professional development at all stages of faculty careers (tenure- and non-tenure-track, from new faculty to emeritus faculty). The OFD seeks to create a culture of caring for all faculty so that they may thrive in their endeavors, and it enables active inter-disciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration of faculty. The Assistant Director contributes to the mission of OFD by assisting the planning and implementation of a program of faculty development and support to promote faculty equity and well-being at UMass Boston.
Director of Finance Institute Community Inclusion
The Director of Finance will provide high-level strategic leadership and support for the financial and administrative goals of the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD) and its institutes, including the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) and the Institute for New England Native American Studies (INENAS). The incumbent will have authority and responsibility over all aspects of the financial management and operations of the Institute and School, including grants management, managing the budget and accounting functions for the units; and will provide overall leadership, direction and assistance in budgetary preparation. The incumbent will analyze a variety of financial information; provide direction and support in making yearly spending recommendations while maximizing the use of funds; and for ensuring overall operations are within the unit’s budget.
Non Tenure Track - Lecturer (Applied Linguistics) Part-Time Applied Linguistics
The Applied Linguistics Department at the University of Massachusetts Boston (https://www.umb.edu/umasslinguistics) invites applications for a part-time, benefitted Non-Tenure Track Lecturer position (0.5 FTE) starting September 1, 2024. Community Director Student Housing Office
The Community Director serves an important leadership role in creating an environment and experience that contributes to the academic and personal success of each student living in residence halls. The Community Director receives direct supervision from the Associate Director of Residential Education and functional supervision from Conduct Case Manager, CARE manager, and Associate Dean/Director of Housing & Residential Life. The Community Director will create living-learning environments that challenge and encourage the holistic development of students and support student leadership and success.
Administrative Coordinator VDC Business Development
The Venture Development Center (VDC) is a professional, dynamic, efficient, and sustainable strategic business development center. By attracting and leveraging resources and expertise, the VDC builds innovative entrepreneurial collaborations between UMass Boston and industry sectors and assists faculty, staff and students, no matter what university they attended, to transfer promising technologies into new commercial enterprises. The Administrative Coordinator will become an integral member of VDC team and assist the VDC staff in managing busy, complex day-to-day operations of a business incubator and operational activities related to executing VDC’s various programs in compliance with University’s policies and procedures and internal guidelines.
Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Athletics & Recreation Athletics
This is a 12-month full-time administrative appointment, reporting directly to Vice Chancellor of Athletics and Recreation (VCAR) with dotted reporting lines to the Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Administration and Operations/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) and Deputy Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives. This position provides complex administrative support to the VCAR and the executive operations. Additionally, this position will develop, coordinate, implement and manage effective and data-informed communication strategies and practices specific to committees, projects and initiatives as assigned by the VCAR. This position is involved in planning, facilitating and/or coordinating department-wide initiatives, projects and committees. Working independently or collaboratively with the VC of Athletics and Recreation/Department Head, Deputy Athletic Directors, athletics leadership team and staff/coaches and/or constituents across campus, this position organizes, supports and coordinates activities and projects that advance the initiatives, needs and goals of the department. General responsibilities also include the development, supervision and management of a student worker administrative support team to ensure appropriate office coverage, customer service and internal departmental responsiveness and the coordination of business meeting meals (Division-Wide, senior leadership, team dinners, staff/coach gatherings). This person is expected to work collaboratively with student leadership, internal groups, campus-wide departments and organizations, and demonstrate a working knowledge of sound budget management skills. This person will also work closely and at times with direction from the Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Administration/SWA and Operations and Deputy Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives in support of department-wide project work. Additional responsibilities in department-wide administration as assigned.
Associate Lecturer- (Biology) Biology
The Biology Department is seeking candidates with strong interests in teaching to join our faculty beginning September 1, 2024, for two non-tenure track Associate Lecturer appointments. We are seeking candidates to teach an introductory-level Biology lecture and laboratory course for Biology majors. Although the positions are for the Fall semester, there is the possibility of extending the appointment to later semesters. The General Biology course covers introductory cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics. In the Fall semesters, the course typically enrolls about 350 students
Report Writer Student Admnistrator Registrar's Office
The Report Writer, Student Administration is responsible for running and providing system reporting for the Registrar’s Office. Working with the Summit Reporting System (and other systems as required), the incumbent will act as a subject matter expert on all student records tables within the student data system; and will redesign, troubleshoot and revise queries/reports within the system to identify and implement the needs of the consumer, to ensure that the area of student records will interact with various university systems and will provide concise student data reporting for advisors, faculty and Deans. S/he will also conduct and serve as the point person for the training of employees both within the Registrar’s Office and campus-wide for existing Summit reporting. The Report Writer for Student Administration will act as a consultant on data processing to other departments within the university and will determine suitable programs and/or systems to meet departmental specific needs. The incumbent will work closely with the Registrar regarding progress, challenges, successes and concerns that arise regarding the development of requested reports.
Director Data Integration VC for Info Technology and CIO
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Information and Chief Information Office, the Director of Data Integration develops and maintains efficient and high-quality data integrations (connecting data, applications and third parties) that support business processes and customer needs by identifying, defining, selecting, and optimizing all Information Technology data integrations to ensure alignment with institutional strategic goals and priorities. The Director exercises considerable independent judgment in accomplishing the work of the Data Integration Office and is responsible for achieving desired results and managing major data integration projects and related tasks in tandem with other units and/or independently.
Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Psychology) Psychology
The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will join the UMass Boston team of an Institute of Education Sciences-funded, Initial Efficacy study, which is a two-site study located at UMass Boston and the University of California Riverside. The study’s goals including implementing an autism-focused professional development program for early elementary, general education teachers and evaluating the program’s efficacy in a randomized controlled trial design. This professional development program, called Smooth Sailing, was designed with close consultation from teachers and autistic consultants, provides neurodiversity-affirming information about autism, and equips teachers with strategies for fostering strong student-teacher relationships with their young autistic students. The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for program management responsibilities, including but not limited to, collaborating with teachers and schools, implementing the teacher-focused program, overseeing and conducting data collection efforts, and disseminating aspects of the program. This is a one-year, grant-funded position with the possibility of renewal for an additional one-four years.

Assistant Director of Athletics & Sports Communication Athletics
The Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Communication provides leadership in the areas of athletic communications, as well as media and public relations for UMass Boston athletics and the nineteen (19) National Athletic Collegiate Association (NCAA) Division III intercollegiate programs. The incumbent is responsible for the overall supervision, organization and management of the Sports Information Office and public relations functions of the department including the development, coordination, and implementation of effective communication strategies and initiatives that create recognition of the achievements, programs, teams and participants. Non Tenure Track - Lecturer (Clinical Psychology) Psychology
The Department of Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a Lecturer position beginning September 1, 2024 in Clinical Psychology with a track record of success in teaching and clinical work/clinical supervision. Our goal is to successfully recruit a psychologist, who will (a) serve as the Practicum Coordinator, coordinating placements and supporting students in completing external practicum placements, for our clinical psychology doctoral program, (b) provide clinical supervision to doctoral student trainees particularly through our UMB-UR-BEST outreach program (see https://www.umb.edu/umburbest), and (c) teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
