General Summary: 

The Statewide Assistant Coordinator will work closely with the Director and Grant Coordinator to maintain the high standards through growth and development of the program. The Statewide Assistant Coordinator will coordinate convenings of key stakeholders and partners, support StrongStart communications delivery, and participate in state data collection, as required.

Examples of Duties: 

  • Responsible for coordination of partnerships, collaborations, grant and stakeholder convenings, and implementation of the communications plan;
  • Assist all managers and coordinators with implementing grant services programs;
  • Support implementation of StrongStart service delivery in the areas of communications, training, technical assistance, coaching, grant management, data, and evaluation:
    • Support communications and coordination with regional Professional Development Center network;
    • Support stakeholder engagement, communication, and management of the statewide grant advisory group;
    • Provide assistance in the development of new universal and targeted training content;
    • Provide assistance in the development of the new coaching model, coaching toolkit, and coaching competencies assessment;
    • Assist with data collection and monitoring, including preparation of regular data reports for use in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement;
    • Assist with research about state models and strategies for quality improvement and professional development systems and present the research at SSTTA meetings to inform design and implementation.

Qualifications: 

Master’s Degree and a minimum of three-five (3-5) years of professional work experience in an academic or

Equivalent departmental setting, which must have included one year of financial management experience, is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with and experience with internal grant submissions and human resources work is preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with academic, as well as external federal and/or private funding mechanisms is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office, as well as other administrative systems including Google docs, Adobe Acrobat, and PeopleSoft;
  • Ability to work independently and with other central administrative units of the college and university;
  • Ability to understand and apply university policies and procedures;
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare summary reports;
  • Ability to be flexible and meet changing demands;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong financial management skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong commitment to customer service.

This is a grant-funded position currently expected to extend through June 30, 2022, subject to ongoing funding approval and business needs. There is a possibility of extension beyond June 30, 2022, contingent on the availability of funding and operational needs.
